Devlog 3
Welcome to the third devlog of "Gravity Game".
Last time we showed our progress on the main mechanic of the game, gravity manipulation. We had some issues with it, due to sometimes bugging the rest of the movement for the player after changing its gravity. Thankfully we got the player gravity in order now a its working great. The player is able to walk in walls and on the roof. However we decided that is better that the gravity cannot be changed, while the player is on air, since that would make the player able to fly, which is not intended on the game.
Since we had great progress with gravity on the player, we started to putting it on objects. On the reference images you can see that we are using just a simple godot face with a square hitbox. As you can see the gravity manipulation is also working on the object as well as the player. It's important to remind that the gravity is the same for both. We have plans on adding other enemies or objects that are not affected by gravity (an idea for example, are slimes since they can attach to walls or roofs, gravity will not affect them).
We had a little issue, since a problem in one of the computers caused that we lost some non gameplay stuff (like main menu, credit scenes or design ideas for levels) so we are hoping we can recover them rapidly.
Our challenges now are remaking the stuff we lost, adding more enemies (affected by gravity and ones that not) and start making a sample level to see if everything we are adding so far will work as we intend.
